Here we go again everyone. I am back after a long holiday season and so is the GSL. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, January 11th.
Well, we will start with the group play over in the GSL. We had the first couple of days in Code S play and so far our foreign hopes have all been dropped back down into Code A. On Monday we had Ganzi and Jjakji advancing, with Boxer taking 3rd, and Sen 4th. On Tuesday we had SuperNova and MC advancing, Leenock 3rd, and Fin 4th. Then on Wednesday we had NesTea and MVp advancing, Lucky 3rd, and Idra taking 4th.
For those that might have missed HomeStory Cup 4 over the past weekend, the finals bracket ro8 was Sound over Real 3-2, Violet over MarineKing 3-2, MC over Nerchio 3-0, and JYP over Dimaga 3-1. In the round of 4 we had Sound over Violet 3-2 and MC over JYP 3-2. This set up a finals where MC took the championship 4-0 over JYP. Good job everyone.
We are still awaiting word on the new Season of State of the Game. The rumor mill is running and it sounds as if MLG will be making their announcements on the first show of the year. JP has promised some kind of announcement tomorrow, so tune in then for more information.

NewSCast for 3-Dec-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, December 3rd.
Well, we are all decompressing after that amazing series between Jjakji and Leenock last night to crown the new GSL Code S Champion. If you missed it, you have to watch that series. It is well worth the ticket price by itself.
Now that Code S is done, all eyes are on the NASL Season 2 Finals going on this weekend. In the ro8 matches from today we had Hero over HasuObs 3-0, Sen over BratOK 3-1, Thorzain over Morrow 3-1, and finally Puma over Idra 3-0. Then, in the first semifinals match we had Sen failing to find any answer to Hero as Hero advances to the finals with the 4-0 victory. In the last match of the day we had Thorzain falling to the pervious champion Puma 4-2, setting up a finals rematch from DreamHack Winter with EG.Puma taking on Liquid'Hero.

NewSCast for 19-Nov-11
Here we go again. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, November 19th, the second day of action over at the MLG National Championships.
Well, before we get into MLG, let's run down the overshadowed games in the NASL Semi-Open. In the Winner's Bracket we had Gatored over Lost 2-1 and Thorzain over Catz 2-1. In the lower bracket we had CrazyMoving over Major 2-0 and then CrazyMoving over Catz 2-0.
Now onto the big action over at MLG Providence. Wow, some amazing matches today which was all shadowed by the rematch series of Naniwa and NesTea from the day before. With trash-talking and BM, Naniwa took down NesTea in 2-1 convincing fashion. Other matches from the winner's bracket include Huk over Hero 2-0, MC over Idra 2-0, and DRG over MMA 2-0.
The match ups for tomorrow, championship Sunday include Huk vs. Naniwa and MC vs. DRG in the upper bracket. Down in the lower bracket we will have Rain vs. MarineKing, Haypro vs. Illusion, Boxer vs. Artist, and Puma vs. Losira.

Well, a ton of action all over today. I will try to cover a lot, so I will go quickly. The big news was the start of MLG Orlando. In group play pool a we have Idra 3-0, Haypro 2-1, Boxer 2-1, TLO 0-2, and Drewbie 0-3. In group b we have Bomber 3-0, Sheth 2-1, Puma 1-1, Kiwikaki 1-2, and InControl 0-3. In pool C we had Ret 3-0, HongUn 2-1, Slush 1-2, Machine 1-2, and Rain at 0-2. Then in pool D we have Huk 3-0, July 2-1, Hero 1-1, MC 1-2, and Tyler at 0-3.
In open bracket notable players that are still in the winners side we have Vibe, Stephano, TheSTC, MarineKing, HwangSin, Inori, aLive, Sase, HasuObs, and Jinro. Top players that are in the lower bracket are TriMaster, Inka, PainUser, State, KawaiiRice, Agh, Polt, MasterAsia, wbc, White-Ra, Destiny, and Whiplash. NewSCast for 2-Oct-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Sunday, October 2nd.
Let's start with the NASL Division 5 Week 3 play. The maps for today were Bel'Shir Beach, The Shattered Temple, and Xel'naga Caverns. First off we had QXC take down TLO 2-1. Next was HasuObs tearing through Tyler 2-0, and the final match was TT1 over Moman 2-1. The current standings for the division are:
QXC 3-0, Dimaga 2-0, Puma 2-0, TT1 2-1, HasuObs 2-1, TLO 0-3, Moman 0-3, and Tyler 0-3.
Next we had the Semifinals in the GSL Code A. The matches were Curious over GuMiHo 3-0 and Oz over Sage 3-1. This sets up the finals between Curious and Oz for that easy Code S spot.
Also played today were the ro8 brackets at IEM China. The first match up was Idra tearing through Revival 3-1. Next we had Elfi over Strelok 3-1. Next was HasuObs over Dimaga 3-2, and the final match was Puma over JYP 3-0.
In other news the IPL 3 coming up in a few days has released the complete list of open bracket players. Some notable include Catz, TriMaster, Slush, Socke, DeMuslim, Puma, Haypro, Sheth, Kiwikaki, Spanishiwa, and TT1. Be sure to start tuning in on Thursday for IPL 3 action.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, August 12th
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, August 12th.
Well, let's start today with GSTL from early this morning. The teams were FXOKorea (formally fou) taking on ZeNEX in a bo7 matchup. Here is the run down from those exciting games:
Hack over Gumiho, Leenock over Hack, Puzzle over Leenock and asd, then we had TheBest tear through Puzzle, Line, and Coco to take the victory for ZeNEX 4-3.
Also today we had the Battle.net NA invitational. I will give you a complete list of scores:
Winner's Round 1: Huk over Ostojiy 2-0, Select over TT1 2-0, Sheth over Kiwikaki 2-0, and Idra over DDE 2-0.
Winner's Round 2: Select over Huk 2-0 and Sheth over Idra 2-0.
Loser's Round 1: TT1 over Ostojiy 2-0 and Kiwikaki over DDE 2-1.
The rest of the matches will be played tomorrow in that tourney.
Also today we had some more Loser's bracket action in the IPL Season 2. First we had Thorzain taking on Strelok in a bo5. Strelok fights hard, but falls to the might of Thorzain 3-1. The next match was Idra taking on Nerchio. Lately Nerchio has been winning everything and today was no different as he took down Idra 3-0. This set up a Loser's Bracket match between Thorzain and Nerchio and the winner of that matchup was Nerchio, looking unbeatable.
In player news, the Aussie Moonglade has been released from FXO citing that their long-term plan no longer coincided. Good luck to him in the future.
Also announced this weekend is another episode of TL Attack and this time it will be featuring the Grandpa Toss White-Ra. Tune into teamliquid.net on Sunday at 11:00AM PST for those games.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, August 6th
Here we go again everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, August 6th.
We will start today with action in the Blizzard EU Invitational Day 1. This is a double elimination tourney starting with the ro8. Here are the first round results:
Ro8: Naniwa over Strelok 2-1, Ret over Tarson 2-1, Thorzain over White-Ra 2-0, and Socke over Nerchio 2-0. Next we have loser's bracket round 1 with Nerchio over White-Ra 2-0, and Tarson over Strelok 2-0. The next round was the Winner's round 4 with Thorzain over Socke 2-0 and Ret over Naniwa 2-1. The final round of the day was Loser's bracket round 2 with Tarson over Socke 2-1 and Naniwa over Nerchio 2-0. The final few rounds will be played tomorrow.
Also today we had some winner's bracket play in the IPL Season 2. The matches tonight were Idra tearing through Moonan 2-0. With Mana looking very strong in the next match, he took out his teammate Thorzain 2-0. The third match of the night was Strelok taking down the Panzer General Goody 2-1. For the final match of the night we had 2 fast games and 1 long match as White-Ra showed why he is one of the best long-game Protosses in the world. He took down Select 2-1.

Well, a huge weekend in StarCraft. I will cover as much as I can in the time allotted. First, we have the finals in the GSL Code S as 2 time champion NesTea took on his zerg team mate Losira. The results were to be expected as NesTea took the series and the championship without even dropping a single game, 4-0. Congrats to NesTea for becoming the first 3-time champion of the GSL.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, July 23rd
Hello everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, July 23rd.
We will start today with IPL Season 2, Day 7 play. Today we have winner's bracket action as the first match was EG.Idra taking on coL.Minigun. Idra takes the series 2-1. The second match was FXO.Moonan taking down sixjax.Vibe 2-1. The third match of the night was Thorzain tearing through Socke 2-1 and the final match of the night was mouz.Mana tearing apart Fnatic.Fenix 2-1.
Also today we had the Grubby StarCraft Series invitational featuring a ton of pro players in a 1-day pounding of a tourney. The winner today was Sase taking the final series from Kas 2-0. Third and fourth place were Tarson and Stephano. Congrats to Sase and Kas for taking this tourney.
In team news we have the announcement that Phoenix has left team Reign. Now, this is not FnaticFenix, this is Phoenix, the Korean player formally of Werra who was said to be on team Reign with Kiwikaki and Slush. There is some controversy as he is claiming broken promises but the team is claiming that he was making demands over his agreed upon contract.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, July 16th
Welcome everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, July 16th.
Well, today we had day 3 in the IPL. The first match was our poker hero Kiwikaki falling to Strelok 2-0. Next we had Nerchio looking sloppy as he loses to Cloud 2-0. The next watch was Vile.State taking on Goody. After a bit of a failed Mothership, State falls to Goody 2-1. The final match of the night was Merz falling convincingly to NightEnd 2-0.
Also going on today was the TL TeamSpeak #19. This week the winner was the Korean fighter ZeNEXHack. Second place was Goody with 3rd/4th being NEXReturning and imba.Strelok. 5th/8th were Mana, Ret, Lowely, and DeMuslim. It is good to see a lot of foreigners in the money for this one.
Also today was the Grand Finals of the IEM Americas Championship. The winner's bracket finals were a bo5 between FnaticTT1 and dignitas.Select. Select take the series 3-1 in a group of short, uninspiring games. TT1 dropped down the loser's bracket where he faced EG.Idra. Idra looked good in the series taking down TT1 3-1. The brackets say Select and Idra are supposed to play, but neither seems to care about their seed at they both advance, so that match, it appears will not happen.
In another announcement, the NASL on Sunday is doing a tour of Southern California with Sen, White-Ra, and Gretorp. The great thing about this is that they have published the schedule and are welcoming fans to come around, meet the pros, and have fun with them for the day. On top of that, they will end the day with a "Dollars and Cents" showmatch for the remainder of the budget. This will be a bo7 series between Sen and White-Ra and can be found at the NASL Season 2 channel on Justin.tv.
A quick update on Kiwikaki playing the WSOP: He was knocked out today but he ended up in 210th place, I spot ahead of Daniel Negreanu, and with a pay out of $47,000. Congrats Jonathan on your placement!

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, July 14th
Here we go everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, July 14th.
Very early this morning our StarCraft 2 day started with the GSTL as Slayers took on TSL. Slayers won the first 2 team leagues, but so far are not off to a hot start as they fell again to TSL 4-2 with Ryung taking 2 games for Slayers and Revival taking 1 game and SangHo taking the other 3 for TSL. Although everyone was hoping to see her, Slayers did not field their newest member Eve. Maybe next time guys! As I am recording this, the first match in the team leagues for this morning has just ended with FXOpen taking on Fou. I guess all I can say is that at least it was not another all-kill. GuMiHo took out Slog, then took out Moonan, then killed Oz, but then FXO took a game. This time it was the hero QXC as he took down GuMiHo by roasting over 100 workers with hellions. Unfortunately the pride did not last long as Choya takes down QXC for his team. Fou takes the series 4-1.
Today we also had the start of the IPL season 2. The first match was Idra taking down Drewbie 2-1. Next we had Minigun taking down DieStar 2-1. The third match was Fury taking on Moonan and Fury was just outclassed in his TvT by Moonan who took the series 2-0. The finals match of the night was Tarson taking on Vibe. Tarson put together some good battles, but fell to Vibe 2-0.
Here is a quick update on the After Hours Gaming League (AHGL.tv) after 1 full week of play we have Amazon on top 1-0 followed by Dropbox, Zynga, and Microsoft each with a win. Next we have Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp coming in with loses after 1 full week. Week 2 is being broadcast right now, so I will have those results as they become available.
In other news, TeamLiquid has announced that they are hosting a "Player's Lounge" next door to MLG Anaheim for players and media to chill and do interviews. Thanks TL for that! Also in big news, there is an announcement that SK Gaming out of Germany has struck a deal with oGs where the players Nada and MC will play for team SK Gaming when out of Korea and for oGs when in Korea. I cannot wait to see SK.MC at a tourney soon!
Also, Dreamhack has released number from the Summer tourney with 1.5 million unique views over the weekend and an average peak of 62,000 viewers at a time between all streams. They also streamed a total 17,300 hours for the entire event. Congrats to DreamHack and the entire community for making the event a true eSports milestone.

StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, June 25th
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 25th.
The big action today was the main bracket rounds for the HomeStory Cup tournament. This was double-elim brackets (Sorry, I think the other day I said single-elim) so here are the results from the main bracket:
In round 1, XLord took out Sase 2-1, Huk beat ToD 2-0, Idra beat Tarson 2-0, Socke beat Goody 2-1, Adel beat White-Ra 2-0, Naniwa rained on Cloud 2-0, Thorzain took out Stephano 2-0, and MC tore through Jinro 2-0. In round 2, Huk beat Xlord 2-0, Idra beat Socke 2-0, Naniwa beat Adel 2-0, and MC beat Thorzain 2-0. For round 3 we had Huk advancing over Idra 2-1, and Naniwa took out MC this time 2-1. So the upper bracket finals will be Huk vs. Naniwa. The winner will face the lower bracket finalist, which I will go over those results now, all losers are eliminated:

Third and fourth place were Mill.DieStar and ZenexLine with fifth through eighth going to the last winner HwangSin, ZenexPuzzle, ZenexYong, and the former WC3 champion Grubby.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 18th
Hello again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, June 18th.
Well, DreamHack, DreamHack, and more DreamHack content to go over. I covered a bit yesterday from the start. Here are the overall standings in group play so far, the top 2 from each qualify for the main championship bracket:

In NASL playoff action the players were fighting for the championship bracket seed 14 to face Strelok. The first match was Sjow taking on DarkForce in a TvZ. This match was an epic back and forth slugfest, but in the end only one can make it out and today the winner was Darkforce after mining out Metalopolis. After that match we had MoleTrap getting his head shaved which transitioned into Naniwa taking on Axslav. Axslav played strong, but fell to the power of Naniwa. This set up a match between Naniwa and Darkforce for the bracket spot. The match only took 2 games, but it was 2 hard fought games as DarkForce took out Naniwa to advance.
