NewSCast for 13-Jan-11

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, January 13th.

Sorry about skipping the cast last night, but there was not much to speak of.  While there is still not a ton of news for today, there were a couple of significant moves to talk about.

First of all, the new brackets and tournament style for the upcoming GSTL season have been released.  The tournament style is set up some what differently from previous seasons.  There will be playoff rounds to determine double elimination brackets seeding.  Those seeds then will advance teams into finals playoffs and start seeds for the next season.

Another great bit of information to be announced because of this is that Quantic Gaming featuring players such as Naniwa and Sase have joined forces with StarTale full time in a player and league exchange program which will cover SC2 as well as other games.  Hopefully their partnership will last longer then the short-lived one between Quantic and IM.  Good luck to all the teams on the upcoming GSTL season which is set to start on January 27th.

In other rather big news, 2-time GSL champion MC has officially left his long-time team oGs and joined SK Gaming full time.  The two teams had a limited partnership with the players MC and Nada, but that partnership has dissolved.  MC signed with SK Gaming who may look to expand their SC2 roster in the process.

JP and State of the Game have dissolved their partnership with MLG citing the spirit of independent ESPORTS journalism.  This means that SOTG will return testing a new date and time slot.  The show will air on Thursdays at 4PM PST.  They say this is to attempt to cater to the European audiences as well, but that if it does not go as planned, they are willing to test various other dates and times as well.  The new season will start on January 19th over at twitch.tv/stateofthegame.

The last thing to talk about today is that ESV.tv has teamed up with ASUS ROG for their invitational tournament.  The winner of the ESV.tv Grand Prix will receive one of the 32 invite spots to the upcoming ASUS ROG Invitational in Finland during the last weekend in February.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

NewSCast for 7-Oct-11

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, October 7th.

Well, with some good action today, we will start with play over in the IPL3 in Atlantic City.  In group play, we had groups C and D play.  Group C did not finish all of their group stage games due to some technical difficulties, and group D did play, but most players were not really trying too hard.  What we did get though was the finals in the open bracket leading into the championships.  Instead of listing all games, I will list each of the championship matchups for the ro32:
We have aLive vs. Haypro, Artist vs. Idra, Huk vs. KawaiiRice, Slush vs. White-Ra, Stephano vs. Kiwikaki, Sheth vs. MMA, Boxer vs. Lucky, Catz vs. TheSTC, Sleep vs. Minigun, Violet vs. Strelok, Select vs. Machine, Socke vs. Ryung, Thorzain vs. Spanishiwa, Demuslim vs. Ret, Hero vs. Puma, and Inori vs. MC.

We also had the GSTL finals featuring Team MVP against the Prime Clan and here is the rundown:
Check over Vampire, then Noblesse over Check, Terious, and Creator.  Then we had BboongBboong over Noblesse and Genius.  This brought in Keen for the final 2 kills over BB and MarineKing to take the series 5-3 for MVP.  Congrats to the new team Champions!

We also had NASL Division 3 play.  The maps for today were Antiga, Terminus, and Dual Sight.  The results were HwangSin over Morrow 2-0.  Next we had Jinro falling to Kiwikaki 2-0, and the last match of the night was Idra falling to Socke 2-1.  The standings for this division after 4 weeks of play are:
Idra 3-1, Morrow 3-1, Jinro 3-1, Socke 3-1, Kiwikaki 2-1, HwangSin 1-2, Sjow 0-3, and Softball 0-3.
With a 4-way tie for first, the next couple weeks are going to be crucial for these players.

In player news, the strong Terran player Byun formally of ZeNEX, has announced that he has joined the Prime clan.  Also though, the ZeNEX player hack has joined a new team in StarTale.  It seems that ZeNEX is on its way down.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, September 2nd

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, September 2nd.

Well, let's start with the action from Korea in the GSTL from early Friday morning.  The only match, in fact the last match before the playoffs was FXOKorea taking on StarTale.  In another 1-sided victory, we had Lucky over Bomber, but then Curious came in and ripped faces off of nerds as he took down Lucky, Inori, Choya, and asd to take the match for StarTale.
With this match, the playoffs are set.  The first bracket is Prime vs. StarTale with the winner facing TSL.  The other bracket is IM vs. MVP with the winner advancing to face NSHoseo.

In other news, it appears that the player Grubby will be heading to train in Korea for a month and attempt to make it through the next Code A qualifiers.  Good luck to him and I hope Korea does good things for his play.

Also announced today, MLG is proud to be bring Bomber back for MLG Orlando to defend his title.  This is big, but also announced is that accompanying him will be the return of SlayersBoxer state side.  I know that personally I am rather excited to see Boxer back on the main stage again.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, September 1st

Hello again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, September 1st.

Well, the main chunk of action from Thursday was over in Korea at the GSTL where we had two matches.  The first was F. United taking on oGs and here is the run down: Cezanne over Moon, Soccer over Cezanne, LuvSic over Soccer, then the newest member of IM hit the stage, the Peruvian Fenix to tear through Luvsic, TheSTC, and MC to take the series for F. United 4-2.
The second match was MVP taking on TSL and in a much less competitive showing TSL got the All-Kill on MVP as Clide came in to take down Monster, DongRaeGu, Vampire, and Guinea Pig.

In other news, DreamHack Valencia has released the names of the next 2 invites.  This time we have Mouz.Thorzain and MVP.DongRaeGu.  Add them to the previously announced players Infi, Idra, Huk, and Naniwa.

Also announced was gomtv giving away all GSL vods for free for 48 hours.  This is in honor of the 1 year anniversary of the GSL, so head over to gomtv.net to check out awesome match ups from the past year.  Also, coming up on September 3rd and 4th are the October Code A Prelims featuring players like Boxer, Yellow, Slog, Sase, and Hero, so be sure to tune in to see who will make it to Code A this season.

And finally, in player news we have the announcement that the Korean player Violet, formally of MVP has joined a Filipino progaming team called "AZK."  Good luck to both of them.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do, you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, August 25th

Well well well, here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, August 25th.

Well, as we are all prepping for the big MLG weekend starting on Friday, not a ton of action is going down.  We did have a couple matches in the GSTL last night.  The first pairing was F. United taking on Prime.  While both teams were looking for a win, all Prime needed was one person for the complete all-kill.  We had BboongBboong taking down Thorzain, Fenix, Lyn, and Moon to take the 4-0 victory for Prime.  The second match up of the night was Slayers facing off with oGs.TL.  This is an awesome back and forth match and here is the rundown:
Ganzi over Cezanne, Supernova over Ganzi and MMA.  Taeja then took out Supernova.  This brought in MC to take down Taeja and Ryung for the 4-2 victory for oGs-TL.

In other news, MLG has finally released the complete player list for Raleigh.  We already knew the pool players, but here are some names from the Open Bracket:
Tyler, Fenix, QXC, Grubby, Jinro, Catz, Noblesse, Hero, Puma, HwangSin, iCCupDiamond, Sonkie, Spanishiwa, and Whiplash.

Also, the NASL has released 5 more players for season 2.  The names released today were BratOK, InControl, HwangSin, Sheth, and Moman.  They has now released 20 of the total 50 players in the league.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you today.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you an find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, August 19th

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, August 19th.

Well, let's start off with the GSTL action from early Friday morning.  First we had NSHoSeo taking on IM.  There was plenty of fireworks and BM leading up to a 4-1 victory for IM.  Sage took game 1 against Happy.  Then Losira came in to take the series from Sage, Tassadar, Jjakji, and Shuttle.

Next we had our heroes F. United fighting hard against TSL.  I did get to see this match as F. United fought very hard, but in the end fell to the might of TSL.  We had Heart over Naniwa, Fenix over Heart and Clide, then Revival over Fenix and Lyn.  This brought in Thorzain who took out Revival to set up the ace match against aLive.  In a weird and exciting game, Thorzain could not stand up and TSL took the series 4-3.

Also today we have the ro8 play in the championship brackets over at IEM GamesCon.  First we had Socke over Kas 3-1.  Next was Puma over Nerchio 3-0.  Following that up was MC over Select 3-0.  The final match was Mana over Moonglade 3-1.  This sets up a semis for tomorrow with MC vs. Mana and Puma vs. Socke.

Also, in other news, it was announced that Team Dignitas is sending their very strong Terran player Sjow over to Korea to be with his teammate Naniwa.  I can not wait to see Sjow after spending some time over there.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, August 18th

Welcome everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thusday, August 18th.

Well, some good action from the day.  We will start with the GSTL from early Thursday morning.  The first match was between Slayers and the foreign heroes F. United.  Last week the foreigners pulled out an amazing win over a powerful MVP team, but this week, well, they got all-killed by SlayersTaeja.  In order, we had Soccer, Moon, Thorzain, and then Naniwa falling.  After that match we had MVP taking on Prime and here is that rundown:
MarineKing over Tails, and then the man himself, DongRaeGu came in to take out MarineKing, anypro, BBoongBBoong, and Polt to take the series 4-1 for his team MVP.

Also today we had day 2 action over in Germany with the Intel Extreme Masters GamesCon.  Today groups C and D played and here are the results with the top 2 advancing to the championship bracket:
Group C: Nerchio 3-0, Moonglade 2-1, Tarson 1-2, and the newest EG member Huk falling 0-3.
Group D: Mana 3-0, Puma 2-1, then Stephano 1-2 and Sase 0-3.
The championship brackets start Friday morning.  Here are the pairings for that:
Socke vs. Kas, Nerchio vs. Puma, Select vs. MC, and Mana vs. Moonglade.

In other news, just the other day ArtosisTV has released the first episode in a new show series that they are calling "Imbalanced!"  The show features Artosis and Idra attempting to have a discussion about SC2 and the games balance issues.  You can find that over at youtube.com/artosistv.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, August 11th

Hello everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, August 11th.

Well, yesterday I talked about F. United scoring huge in the team leagues with a win over MVP, but also taking place after that was oGs taking on TSL and here is the rundown from that:
JYP over Vines, TheSTC over JYP, and then Revival took down TheSTC, Nada, and MC to take the series for TSL 4-1.

We also had IPL season 2 action with some Winner's and Loser's bracket play.  The matches in the lower bracket for today were Thorzain taking down Moonan 3-1 on the bo5, and the EU Blizzard Champ Ret falling to Nerchio 3-0.  In the upper bracket action we had Idra fall to the recently resurgent Mana 3-2.  The final match was White-Ra looking all but dominating in his 3-0 victory over Strelok.

Also today was the final day in Week 1 of the new season in the EG Master's Cup.  The week of results were:
Mouz 4-0 over Complexity, Empire 3-2 over FnaticMSI, Gosu 3-1 over Sixjax, and in the final match we had EG take the series over Dignitas 3-1.

In other news the big announcement today is that the Korean teams have withdrawn at the minute from Season 2 of the NASL.  They were making some last minute monetary demands which NASL attempted to work with, but due to constraints they could not reach and agreement.  I am not sure what this means for season 2 in term of players, if they will replace or just go without for season 2, but I do know that Korean players on Foreign teams were not affected so Rain, Puma, and Hero will be there.

Also announced today were a few things about MLG Raleigh.  First of all, there will still be two streams, one featuring Day9 and Husky, the other with the casting archon themselves, Tastosis.  DJWheat has other obligations that weekend so will not be able to make it.  Also released were the pools for the event.  The four Koreans coming on invites are Bomber, Coco, Tester, and Nada.  Other Koreans in pool play include DongRaeGu and Rain.  I thought that MMA and MVP were confirmed, but it appears that MVP has declined his invite and we have not heard from MMA yet that I know of.  Also it has been announced that Complexity is sending Noblesse along with DRG to this event.  Can't wait to see these players in action.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, August 5th

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, August 5th.

Well, let's start off with an overview of the much anticipated Boxer/Yellow show match from last night.  It was a fun event overall with interviews and more.  Yellow started off admitting that he had only played for a couple of weeks and was currently in the Gold League.  Boxer announced that this was for fun and he would play a round a lot.  There was a ton of conversation between the two old rivals.  Boxer took game 1 on XC, and yes, there were plenty of bunkers including Boxer attempting to created the legendary "Bunker Transporter" on the map.  Game 2 was on Shattered with Yellow taking that game with repeated Roach drops.  The final game was Boxer taking the series on Tal'Darim.  It was fun to watch and Yellow said that it meant a lot to him to be there with Boxer in a huge event with tons of fans in attendance.  I hope to see Yellow in the SC2 scene more in some capacity or another.  Congrats to eSports on this event.

In Europe, we also had the Championship brackets in Assembly Summer 2011.  I will give you a run down of each round:
Ro16:
Dimaga over TLO, BratOK over Sarens, Sjow over Bischu, elfi over Jimpo, Seiplo over Kas, Stephano over Sen, Mana over Nada, and Morrow over Welmu.
Ro8:
Dimaga over Elfi, Stephano over Seiplo, Mana over Sjow, and BratOK over Morrow.
Semis:
Dimaga over Stephano 3-2 and Mana over BratOK 3-1.
Bronze match was Stephano over BratOK 3-0.
In the finals we had Dimaga taking the tourney over Mana in an exciting 3-2 victory.  Congrats to Dimaga.

Also last night we had Venus action in the GSTL.  The teams were IM vs. StarTale and here is the rundown:
Bomber over MVP, then over Happy, then over Losira, and finally losing to Younghwa.  This brought out Curious to take the series for StarTale 4-1.

We also had IPL Season 2 action.  This was more Loser's Bracket play.  The matches today were Drewbie, who has been looking stronger as of late, over Tarson 2-0.  The next match up was Lalush taking down BratOK 2-0.  The third match up of the night was another 2-0 as Nerchio beat Vibe and the final match was 2-1 Ret over Fenix.  All losers are eliminated.

In other news it was announced today that the Russian player BratOK will be joining a new team.  His new home is going to be imba.FXO and he will now be team mates with another strong Terran, Strelok.  imba.FXO seems to keep getting stronger and stronger line ups.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you today.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, August 4th - Podcast has Returned!

Welcome everyone to the StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, August 4th.  I am TheAmazombie and the podcast as returned.

Well, let us start off with the GSTL from Thursday morning.  The teams were the 2-time champions Slayers going head to head with Prime.  Here is the rundown: Taeja over MarineKing, The HongUn over Taeja, Boxer, and Ganzi, Ryung over HongUn, and finally Terious over Ryung so the Prime clan wins a match 4-2.

Also today we had the group play over at Assembly 2011 in Finland.  There were a ton of matches, so I will run down group play result quickly, top 2 advance to championships:
Group A: Dimaga 3-0, Bischu 2-1, Lowely 1-2, and Sein 0-3.
Group B: Morrow 3-0, Seiplo 2-1, Merz 1-2, and Fuzer 0-3.
Group C: Sarens 3-0, Sen 2-1, Protosser 1-2, and Naama 0-3.
Group D: Sjow 3-0, TLO 1-2, Adelscott 1-2, and Happy 1-2.
Group E: Kas 3-0, Welmu 1-2, Grubby 1-2, and Lalush 1-2.
Group F: Stephano 3-0, BratOK 2-1, Bigs 1-2, and Satiini 0-3.
Group G: Mana 3-0, Jimpo 2-1, Huk 1-2, and DarkForce 0-3.
Group H: Nada 2-1, Elfi 2-1, NightEnd 1-2, and Haypro 1-2.

We also had some play in the IPL season 2.  This time we had Loser's Bracket round 2 as Nerchio took down Minigun 2-1, Vibe took out State 2-1, Ret win his match over Socke 2-0, and finally Fenix took down Cocoa 2-0.  All losers are eliminated from season 2.

Make sure to tune in Friday morning at 6 AM PST for the Boxer/Yellow showmatch over on gomtv.  I am excited to see Yellow in action with SC2.

More information has surfaced in the TSL situation that I quickly mentioned in yesterdays post.  It appears that TSL was removed from the SC2Conference in Korea due to a dispute over salaries.  Fruitdealer and Trickster were promised payment, TSL's Coach Lee lied and told them he did not receive sponsor money when he really did not want to pay them due to their work ethic.  In the end it appears that Mr. Lee reneged on the promised deal between the players and lied to cover it up.  This is just icing on the cake for issues going on with TSL lately.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do, you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, July 21st

Welcome everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, July 21st.

First of all, the huge news out of Korea today - the GSTL which is going on right now as I am recording this - just had an amazing moment.  The first match was FXOpen taking on IM.  Here are the results:
QXC over Horror on Bel'Shir Beach
QXC over BBi on Xel'naga Caverns
QXC over dreamtt on Metalopolis
and then...
QXC over MVP on Tal'darim Alter to take the first foreign all-kill in Korea for SC2 as well as the first win for FXO in the GSTL.  Congrats to QXC and his team and this was a huge moment for them, the community, and StarCraft 2 History.

Well, we have some more news coming out of the Puma/EG/TSL news that broke last night.  Today Coach Lee spoke more to explain his stance and Alex from EG also stated their point.  According to Alex, Puma has not actually been signed by EG as of yet.  It sounds more and more like a lot is being made out of some cultural difference and misunderstanding.  Check out tonight's episode of Weapon of Choice for more information.

Well, we had Week 5 play in the GSTL.  The match from Thursday morning was oGs/TL taking on Prime.  In game 1 MC took out Hannibal.  Game 2 was MC falling to BBoongBBoong, who continued to take out TOP in game 3.  For game 4 Nada took him out.  Game 5 was Check taking out Nada.  For game 6 oGs fielded the Canadian hero Huk who took out Check and then took out MarineKing in the final match.  oGs wins the series 4-3.

We also had day 5 play in IPL season 2.  Today's matches were the first round in the Loser's Bracket.  The first match was DieStar falling to Drewbie 2-1.  Next we had Tarson taking out Fury 2-0.  The following match was Destiny falling to Axslav 2-1, and the final match of the night was DarkForce dominating DDE 2-0.

After 3 weeks of play in the AHGL here are the current standings: Microsoft on top with 7 points.  Amazon following that up also undefeated in matches but with only 6 points.  Google in third at 2-1, 2 points.  Facebook coming in fourth at 1-2, -1 points.  Next is Zynga with the same score.  Dropbox and Twitter are both at 1-2, -2 points, and coming in last is Yelp with -8 points at 0-3.

With MLG Anaheim coming up just around the corner we have the full player list released today.  Some of the top players that are going to be in the open bracket for this event are:
Tyler, QXC, Vibe, Major, Fenix, Destiny, DeMuslim, Jinro, Merz, Sonkie, White-Ra, HD, and KawaiiRice.
This is looking to be rather exciting.  Go to majorleaguegaming.com for the complete list.

In other news, FXO has announced that they have parted ways with the strong Zerg player Sheth.  They left on mutual terms and I hope for the best for both the team and for Sheth.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, July 16th

Welcome everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, July 16th.

Well, today we had day 3 in the IPL.  The first match was our poker hero Kiwikaki falling to Strelok 2-0.  Next we had Nerchio looking sloppy as he loses to Cloud 2-0.  The next watch was Vile.State taking on Goody.  After a bit of a failed Mothership, State falls to Goody 2-1.  The final match of the night was Merz falling convincingly to NightEnd 2-0.

Also going on today was the TL TeamSpeak #19.  This week the winner was the Korean fighter ZeNEXHack.  Second place was Goody with 3rd/4th being NEXReturning and imba.Strelok.  5th/8th were Mana, Ret, Lowely, and DeMuslim.  It is good to see a lot of foreigners in the money for this one.

Also today was the Grand Finals of the IEM Americas Championship.  The winner's bracket finals were a bo5 between FnaticTT1 and dignitas.Select.  Select take the series 3-1 in a group of short, uninspiring games.  TT1 dropped down the loser's bracket where he faced EG.Idra.  Idra looked good in the series taking down TT1 3-1.  The brackets say Select and Idra are supposed to play, but neither seems to care about their seed at they both advance, so that match, it appears will not happen.

In another announcement, the NASL on Sunday is doing a tour of Southern California with Sen, White-Ra, and Gretorp.  The great thing about this is that they have published the schedule and are welcoming fans to come around, meet the pros, and have fun with them for the day.  On top of that, they will end the day with a "Dollars and Cents" showmatch for the remainder of the budget.  This will be a bo7 series between Sen and White-Ra and can be found at the NASL Season 2 channel on Justin.tv.

A quick update on Kiwikaki playing the WSOP:  He was knocked out today but he ended up in 210th place, I spot ahead of Daniel Negreanu, and with a pay out of $47,000.  Congrats Jonathan on your placement!

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, July 15th

Hello again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Friday, July 15th.

Well, we will start with the GSTL from early this morning.  I went over the results from the FXO match on yesterdays, but if you missed it FXOpen fell to Fou with QXC taking a game.  The other match of the night was Zenex taking on StarTale.  The first game was Byun over Sound, then he took the game off of Curious.  StarTale then took the next game with Ace, who then fell in game 4 to Line.  This brought out Bomber to take the next 3 games.  StarTale takes the series 4-3.

We also had day 2 of the IPL today.  The first match was Thorzain over Axslav 2-1.  Next we had Socke go 2-1 over Destiny.  The third match was Mana 2-0 over DarkForce, and the final match was DDE falling to Fenix 2-1.

In other news, we have another episode of TL attack this weekend.  The featured player this time is none other than the Lord of the Lings Fnatic.Sen.  Tune into teamliquid.net on Sunday for those games.

Also, in a big story it appears the the former BW player ForGG is apparently playing SC2 under the name Raptor.  This was outed by LiquidHuk on his stream.  This is by far one of the most top-rated SC1 players to come over to SC2 other than Nada and July who were not in top form for many years now.  This could be quite exciting.

In other player news, Kiwikaki, Jonathan Garneau, has been playing in the WSOP Main Event and his table was featured on ESPN2 today. He did last out the day, but his chip stack is getting a bit low.  He is in the money though at 30 grand I believe for sure.  Good luck to him on tomorrow!

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

Here we go everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, July 14th.

Very early this morning our StarCraft 2 day started with the GSTL as Slayers took on TSL.  Slayers won the first 2 team leagues, but so far are not off to a hot start as they fell again to TSL 4-2 with Ryung taking 2 games for Slayers and Revival taking 1 game and SangHo taking the other 3 for TSL.  Although everyone was hoping to see her, Slayers did not field their newest member Eve.  Maybe next time guys!  As I am recording this, the first match in the team leagues for this morning has just ended with FXOpen taking on Fou.  I guess all I can say is that at least it was not another all-kill.  GuMiHo took out Slog, then took out Moonan, then killed Oz, but then FXO took a game.  This time it was the hero QXC as he took down GuMiHo by roasting over 100 workers with hellions.  Unfortunately the pride did not last long as Choya takes down QXC for his team.  Fou takes the series 4-1.

Today we also had the start of the IPL season 2.  The first match was Idra taking down Drewbie 2-1.  Next we had Minigun taking down DieStar 2-1.  The third match was Fury taking on Moonan and Fury was just outclassed in his TvT by Moonan who took the series 2-0.  The finals match of the night was Tarson taking on Vibe.  Tarson put together some good battles, but fell to Vibe 2-0.

Here is a quick update on the After Hours Gaming League (AHGL.tv) after 1 full week of play we have Amazon on top 1-0 followed by Dropbox, Zynga, and Microsoft each with a win.  Next we have Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp coming in with loses after 1 full week.  Week 2 is being broadcast right now, so I will have those results as they become available.

In other news, TeamLiquid has announced that they are hosting a "Player's Lounge" next door to MLG Anaheim for players and media to chill and do interviews.  Thanks TL for that!  Also in big news, there is an announcement that SK Gaming out of Germany has struck a deal with oGs where the players Nada and MC will play for team SK Gaming when out of Korea and for oGs when in Korea.  I cannot wait to see SK.MC at a tourney soon!

Also, Dreamhack has released number from the Summer tourney with 1.5 million unique views over the weekend and an average peak of 62,000 viewers at a time between all streams.  They also streamed a total 17,300 hours for the entire event.  Congrats to DreamHack and the entire community for making the event a true eSports milestone.

Well, don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

Here we go again everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, July 7th.

First we will start off with the GSTL from early this morning.  The teams going head to head were oGs and MVP.  Start for oGs was TheSTC and starting for MVP we had Finale.  TheSTC takes game 1.  In response MVP took game 2 with Monster.  Next we had Nada take down Monster and Keen.  MVP then response by bringing out the big guns with the powerful DongRaeGu who takes down Nada, Hero, and finally Cezanne to take the series for MVP 4-3. Tune in Friday morning for action with FXOpen taking on New Star Hosea and Incredible Miracles taking on ZeNEX.

In other news, we have the ramp up to the NASL championships which start Friday at 11:00 AM PST over at nasl.tv.  The event is mixed with criticism as well as amazing match-ups and what appears to be a first-rate live production.  Ro16 matchups include Ret vs. Puma, Sheth vs. Squirtle, Morrow vs. July, HasuObs vs. Moon, Sen vs. Zenio, Darkforce vs. aLive, Select vs. White-Ra, and MC taking on Boxer.  I cannot wait to see the results from that.

We had today the announcement of the PMS|H2O clan stating a StarCraft 2 division.  For those that are unaware, PMS is a prominent female gaming group and H2O is their male counterpart.  They are accepting applications and looking to grow into a competitive team.  Go to pmsclan.com for more information.

Also team VTGaming who recently announced a partnership with Team Reign has announced that, well, their partnership has been dissolved as well as VTGaming as a whole.  Two of the players from VT, Future and Perfect, will be added to the Reign roster. Good luck to all of them on their future.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, July 6th

Alright everyone, here we go again.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 News Cast for Wednesday, July 6th.

Well, a lot of news over my weekend here, so we will start with the GSL Code S play.  First we had ro32 Day 3 action with group E consisting of SC, MVP, Zenio, and Byun.  The winners were Zenio and Byun advancing with SC falling.  The next match was group F with Nada, Keen, HongUn, and SuperNova.  The winners were Nada and HongUn and Keen falls to the Up and Down Matches.  The next day we had Group G with SangHo, Polt, Huk, and aLive.  The winners were Polt and the foreign hero Huk with aLive dropping.  Next we had group H with Inca, Kyrix, Bomber, and MC.  The winners of this match were Bomber and MC with Inca falling.

In other tourney play we had the iCCup Korean weekly.  This weeks winner was TSL.JYP taking the finals over ZeNEX.Life 4-2.  Third and fourth place were ZenEX.Hack and Classic.PRIME.WE.  Tune in to iCCup.tv on Mondays and Tuesdays for more Korean action.

In other news, we had the announcement by Day9 of the "After Hours Gaming League" which features 8 top tech companies like Amazon, Google, and Zynga fighting it out for charity and eSports promotion.  Check out VODs and team information over at afterhoursgaming.tv.  This week we also had the return of JP's State of the Game featuring the co-hosts Day9, Tyler, and Artosis.  Be sure to check that out!

In team news we have the announcement that Trickster has joined StarTale and It's Gosu has signed the strong player HwangSin from Korea.  Also the player ChoyaFou is being sent to MLG Anaheim by way of FXOpen.  FXOBoss has said that Choya will be sporting an FXO jersey, but this is as a favor of respect, Choya has not left his team Fou.

Coming up this weekend we have the NASL Season 1 championships and we just got the first glance at some picture of the site.  It is looking amazing as this should be a huge event.  Be sure to tune into nasl.tv for those matches starting on Friday.

I do have a couple of updates for this week in that we have a new twitter finally.  You can follow us there @sc2newscast.  Also, due to previous engagements I will be out of town for a few days this weekend.  I will try to do posts and if I have the equipment I will do podcasts.  If I miss a day or two this weekend though, do not worry.  I will be back.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, July 1st 2011

Here we go, the start of Month 3 for the SC2 NewS Cast.  I am TheAmazombie and we will get down to it:

We will start with the GSTL from last night as it was still going on.  First, as covered yesterday was the all-kill from Zenex over FXOpen.  Next was Fou taking on Hosea.  Not quite an all-kill, but almost.  First was Sirius taking game 1 over Scalp.  Then Sage came in and took game 2 from Sirius, game 3 from asd, game 4 from SC, and game 5 from Leenock.  Hoseo wins 4-1.

We also have the ro8 set in the NASL Season 2 Qualifier.  The final matchups are listed as AllAboutYou vs. SCFou, Polt vs. MarineKing, Vines vs. Hero, and CheckPoo vs. Top, all Koreans.  This means that the open winner was Korean and the season 2 qualifier will be Korean.  As the top 4 players receive an invite to season 2, and the spots 5-8 receive a waiting list spot, this means there could potentially be 8 more Korean players for season 2.

In other news from today, we had the announcement that for MLG Anaheim coming up in a few weeks the GSL will be sending MMA to defend his title as well as the Emperor himself, SlayersBoxer.  This was to be expected as Boxer has to come to California for the NASL finals as well.  The other players they are sending have not been announced as of yet.

Coming up this weekend over at TeamLiquid.net we have TL Open #18 on Saturday.  They also just announced another episode of TL Attack for Sunday featuring another fun player in dignitas.Naniwa.  That should be a good time so tune in there for a chance to play with Naniwa.

Well, that's about all that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, June 30th

Here we go again everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, June 30th.

Well, we have plenty of GSL results to go over.  First we will start with Code A, ro16 day 1 play from early this morning.  We had Dream go 2-1 over Luvsic, then Leenock looked strong in the 2-0 victory over Yoda.  Noblesse took the series 2-0 over Check, and finally Tassadar who has been strong lately took the series 2-1 over Ryung.
In GSTL play we had week 2 of the Jupiter Group.  This week it was Prime taking on TSL.  Sangho beat Lotzi, BBoongBBoong beat Sangho, Puma then came in to take BBoong down, Puma then cleared the series as he beat MarineKing and Optimus to take the series for TSL 4-1.
Late tonight we also had the GSL Code A ro16 day 2 play.  First was Vanvanth taking out Tails 2-1, Puzzle looking strong as he took down the NA hero Sheth 2-0, Happy taking down Yugiho, and finally Jinro took on asd and in the end asd takes the series 2-0 and both foreigners are eliminated from the tournament.
Just finishing before I recorded this was the first series in GSTL play as the foreign hope, FXO, took on Zenex.  FXO started with Moonan and Zenex opened up with Hack...and, well, that was all they needed.  That is right, Hack took down Moonan, then took down Slog, then beat TGun, and finally took out FXOz.  It was a sad thing to watch as the entire series really only took an hour.  Maybe next time FXO!  Fou is playing Hoseo as we speak right now, we will cover that match tomorrow.

Today we also had the ro32 play in the NASL Season 2 Qualifier.  Here is a run-down of the matches from today: Time beat Killer 2-1, AllAboutYou took down KeydCapoch, OptikZero beat ONEzerker 2-0, PoltPrime beat FXOz 2-0, MarineKing beat Alicia 2-1, Nerchio fell to Vines, MiniGun fell to Bubbles 2-0,  Hero beat Lalush, CheckPoo went 2-0 over Choya, Jin Yung Park fell to oGs.Inca, and TOP beat TargA.  There was supposed to have been more matches, but either they did not play them or they did not release the results as of yet.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
