Hello again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, September 8th.
Well, not a ton of action, but there was some amazing match ups over in the GSL Up and Down Matches early Thursday morning. Here is the complete rundown:
Violet over Tester, Taeja over MarineKing, JYP over Violet, Tester over MarineKing, Taeja over JYP, MarineKing over Violet, Tester over Taeja, MarineKing over JYP, Taeja over Violet, and JYP over Tester. This set up a playoff round where JYP went over Tester, MarineKing over JYP, and finally MarineKing over Tester. This means that our Code S spots went to Taeja and MareinKing with the other 3 players all heading back to Code A.
So now the final Code S spots have been seeded. The winners are SuperNova, Losira, Taeja, Leenock, Jjakji, MarineKing, Ganzi, and DRG. Now let's see who wins Code S this season and how everyone does in the placement matches.
In other news, it has been a bit of a story the last few days where NBA player Gordon Hayward has signed up for the Open brackets at IPL season 3 in Atlantic City. He has stated that he has been playing quite a bit more considering the NBA lock out as well as wanting to help promote ESPORTS in general. Gordon is a Mid-level Terran user who also plays a bit of the other races. Good luck to him and the future of competitive ESPORTS.
Also today we had the final day in Week 4 of the EG Masters Cup. The results from this week are:
Empire over Sixjax 3-1, EG over Complexity 3-2, FnaticMSI over Gosu 3-1, and finally we had Dignitas handing it to Mouz with a quick 4-0 victory.
In game-related news, it appears the the PTR server for Europe is active. There are still some issues it seems and some users having problems getting to it, but there are confirmed reports of players on it. Finally, our European friends can play with the new patches.
In player news, it was just announced is that FXOsC, the very strong Korean player, has moved on to another Korean team, MVP. Also, Elfi has announced that he has left his team Virus over issues with management and communication. Let's see who nabs him up. And the last little bit is that the European ToD has left Millennium Gaming and has said that he is heading over to Korea for a few months. Good luck to all these players!

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, August 11th
Hello everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, August 11th.
Well, yesterday I talked about F. United scoring huge in the team leagues with a win over MVP, but also taking place after that was oGs taking on TSL and here is the rundown from that:
JYP over Vines, TheSTC over JYP, and then Revival took down TheSTC, Nada, and MC to take the series for TSL 4-1.
We also had IPL season 2 action with some Winner's and Loser's bracket play. The matches in the lower bracket for today were Thorzain taking down Moonan 3-1 on the bo5, and the EU Blizzard Champ Ret falling to Nerchio 3-0. In the upper bracket action we had Idra fall to the recently resurgent Mana 3-2. The final match was White-Ra looking all but dominating in his 3-0 victory over Strelok.
Also today was the final day in Week 1 of the new season in the EG Master's Cup. The week of results were:
Mouz 4-0 over Complexity, Empire 3-2 over FnaticMSI, Gosu 3-1 over Sixjax, and in the final match we had EG take the series over Dignitas 3-1.
In other news the big announcement today is that the Korean teams have withdrawn at the minute from Season 2 of the NASL. They were making some last minute monetary demands which NASL attempted to work with, but due to constraints they could not reach and agreement. I am not sure what this means for season 2 in term of players, if they will replace or just go without for season 2, but I do know that Korean players on Foreign teams were not affected so Rain, Puma, and Hero will be there.
Also announced today were a few things about MLG Raleigh. First of all, there will still be two streams, one featuring Day9 and Husky, the other with the casting archon themselves, Tastosis. DJWheat has other obligations that weekend so will not be able to make it. Also released were the pools for the event. The four Koreans coming on invites are Bomber, Coco, Tester, and Nada. Other Koreans in pool play include DongRaeGu and Rain. I thought that MMA and MVP were confirmed, but it appears that MVP has declined his invite and we have not heard from MMA yet that I know of. Also it has been announced that Complexity is sending Noblesse along with DRG to this event. Can't wait to see these players in action.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Sunday, July 3rd
Hello again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Sunday, July 3rd.
Well, I guess we need to start with the final day in the EG Master's Cup. First we had Mouz facing Dignitas with Mouz winning the series 4-3. This set up Dignitas vs. Complexity and Complexity took the series 4-3. The finals were then set with Mouz vs. Complexity and in the end Mouz tore through the other teams with the all-kill in the finals, Morrow over Cruncher, Mana over Drewbie, and Thorzain over MiniGun.
Alright, on to GSL Code A ro8 play from early Monday morning. The first match was Dream vs. Leenock and Leenock still on a tear takes the series 2-0. Next we had Tassadar, also on a recent tear taking down Noblesse 2-0. After that was Puzzle, one of the recent favorites beating down BanBanssu 2-0, and finally in the only 2-1 result we had IMHappy taking down asd.
In other news, make sure to tune in Monday night to MLG as they are distributing the return of JP McDaniel to the new State of the Game podcast. I know I cannot wait to see what JP has in store for us this time.
Also, in case you did not catch it, the new season of on the Ladder starts on July 19th. This means hopefully we get some new maps but it also means that the ladder lock will be coming any time now.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, July 2nd
Here we go everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, July 2nd.
In tournament news, we had the first day of playoffs in the EGs Master League with Mouz taking down Complexity, Fnatic falling to Dignitas, and in the loser's bracket Fnatic falls to Complexity and are eliminated. Tomorrow we will have Mouz taking on Dignitas, Fnatic facing the loser of that series, and then the grand finals between the winners.
We also had the TL Open #18 and winner this week was, well the winner of week 16 HwangSin. ZenexHack came in 2nd, 3rd-4th were Polt and Nerchio, 5th-8th were Lalush, Shadow, Mystic, and Phantasm. Congrats to HwangSin who has been very strong as of late.
We also had NASL Season 2 Qualifiers today. In the ro8 sc took down allaboutyou 2-0, MarineKing beat Polt 2-1, Hero took down Vines and Top took down CheckPooh. In the ro4 we had Sc took out MarineKing 2-1, and the results for Hero and Top were not posted or played yet. One of them will move on to the finals against SCFou tomorrow.
Well, in player news Strelok has announced that due to Visa issues he will not be able to attend the NASL championships coming up. It is sad news as Strelok played very well throughout the tournament and earned his spot. He will receive a Visa for 5 year, but not until after the championships start so he will be prepared for future events as well as MLG Anaheim. His spot will be replaced by the NASL Open runner-up who was TSL.Alive. That is correct, more Koreans in the championship rounds.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, June 29th
Welcome back everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Wednesday, June 29th.
Well, as we took our normal weekend, we have some information to cover today. First, I will start with the GSL from this weekend:
First, in GSL Code A Results, we will go from the top in ro32 action:
Dream beat Nuts 2-0, oGsJ beat Creator 2-1, Leenock took down Rainbow 2-0, Yoda beat Min 2-1, Check took down Choya 2-0, Noblesse beat Hero 2-1, Tassadar beat Lyn 2-0, Ryung beat Miho 2-1, and that was all from day 1 play. In day 2, Tails beat TheWind 2-1, BanBanssu beat Soccer 2-1, Sheth took out San 2-1, and Puzzle beat MMA 2-0. We also had day 3 play with Happy beating Hyperdub 2-0, Yugiho beating Curious 2-1, Jinro over ShinyStar 2-0, and Boxer falling to asd 2-0.
Now we will move on to Code S ro32 action from the last two nights. This was group
play where the losers have to play in the up and down matches, so first we start with group A:
NesTea got the walkover from Rain (Who is not playing), July beat Tester, NesTea beat July, Tester got the walkover from Rain, and Tester beat July meaning that NesTea and Tester advance in the tourney. In group B we had Clide beat anypro, Ensnare beat violet, Clide beat Ensnare, violet beat anypro, and Ensnare beat violet again so in the end Clide and Ensnare advance. Next we have group C play as TOP beat Fruitdealer, Genuis beat Virus, Genius beat TOP, Virus beat FruitDealer who has not been looking too hot lately, and TOP beat Virus so Genius and TOP advance. In group D play we had Cocoa take down Alicia, Losira beat MarineKing, Losira beat Cocoa, Alicia beat MarineKing, and Cocoa beat Alicia so Losira and Cocoa advance with MarineKing falling to the Up and down matches. StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, June 23rd
Hello again everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, June 23rd.
First of all, we have to start with the GSTL match that happened last night. We had Slayers putting up a good fight, but falling to MVP 4-3.
As for tonight we had day 2 of the GSTL with FXO taking on StarTale. The foreigners test in the team leagues. This was very exciting, so I will give you a bit of commentary. The open game was ST.Tiger going up against the terran hero QXC. QXC was fine, until the DT's got to his base, gg. Game 2 was against Sheth. After a huge 2-base push from Tiger, Sheth held! He held, took the toss's gold on metal, and with banelings abound he took the game! The first foreign team win! In response ST sent out Curious to take down Sheth. This prompted FXO to release their Korean mate Oz who took down Curious with a couple of manner Nexus. ST countered with Squirtle who just killed him with DTs. Moonan was the next to come up but fell quickly with an all-in push. The final results were ST over FXO 4-2. At least it was not the walkover everyone predicted. IM is taking on fou as I speak, so I will cover those games tomorrow.
Over in Germany this morning was the first day ni the Homestory Cup 3 tourney. We have the first 4 groups finish their play today and here are the results with the first two players per group advancing:
Group A:
Sase: 3-0, Jinro: 2-1, then NightEnd: 1-2, and Moman at 0-3.
Group B:
ToD, Thorzain, and HasuObs all tied at 2-1, but I believe because of the system that it is ToD and Thorzain that advance with HasuObs falling and Haypro finishing at 0-3.
Group C:
We had Idra looking strong at 3-0, Cloud going 2-1, then Grubby at 1-2 and Delphi at 0-3. In the final group of the day, Group D we also had 3 players coming in tied at 2-1 with Socke, Adelscott, and Ret, but due to the records it looks like Socke and Adelscott advance. The final player was Jimpo falling 0-3.
Be sure to tune in tomorrow as there is a ton more group action to happen with players like MC, Tyler, Huk, Naniwa, and White-Ra still to play.
Tonight we also have day 2 play in the NASL Open tourney for that spot in the championships. Today we have the ro64 and ro32 play. Notable players that have advanced through these rounds include Thorzain, Rain, NightEnd, Cocoa, DeMuslim, and Inka. Notable eliminations from today include Agh, ToD, Attero, Dimaga, Major, Hashe, and Lalush. Tune in tomorrow for the ro16 play.
Team Gosu eSports has announced the signing of PokeBunny. Congrats to him, hope it all works out. We also have a report that Trickster and FruitDealer have left TSL. If correct, this is 3 players in as many weeks.
