NewSCast for 16-Nov-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and after a long weekend I have returned. I apologize for not getting to the Weekly Edit this week mainly due to the fact that I did not get caught up on news and VODs in time to put something together. We should be here for news all week though. So here is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, November 16th.
Well, a ton of stuff happening over the long weekend, so a bit of this might be outdated, but here it goes. We will start with the GSL from the last few nights. First we had more Code A ro48 action with Tassadar over Select 2-0, Cezanne over Ensnare 2-0, Fin over Sage 2-0, Genius over Symbol 2-0, JYP over Sase 2-0, LuvSic over HongUn 2-1, Lucky over Naniwa 2-0, and Nada over Soccer 2-1.
Next we had Code S ro16 play starting with Group A featuring MMA, NesTea, Huk, and Leenock with MMA and Leenock advancing, Huk taking 3rd, and NesTea falling to 4th. Next we had group B with Happy, Killer, Oz, and aLive and the results were aLive and Oz advancing with Killer 3rd and Happy taking 4th.
In group C we had Puzzle, SC, MC, and Ganzi with Puzzle and SC advancing, MC taking 3rd and Ganzi 4th. In the final group D we have GuMiHo, Coca, Jjakji, and MVP. First of all Coca was pulled from his spot due to the match-fixing incident in the ESV Korean Weekly. This left MVP and Jjakji to advance with GuMiHo taking 3rd.
Also played was the NASL Semi-Open Tourney day 1. The matches today in the ro32 were Uhen over Mentalist 2-1, Catz over DarkCell 2-1, KawaiiRice over Zelniq 2-0, Gatored over TriMaster 2-0, and then in the ro16 we had Thorzain over Windy (Major) 2-0 and LiveZerg over Killer 2-1.
In other news we had the announcement from Team Liquid of a new documentary about TL that is in the works. It should be out in February of next year. This is to go along with the, still rumored, signing of Zenio to TL. This has not been announced formally, but it seems to be the case.
Also announced we have a couple of the high-level female progamers getting roster spots on teams. First we have JongMi, also known as Marie, getting signed with oGs. The other player, Aphrodite, who won the recent Zowie Divina female Invitational, has been signed with StarTale. Congrats to them and I hope to see more women in StarCraft soon.
The final signing we have is that the player formally known as Soccer has signed with Slayers and is now known as Slayers_Ven. Good luck to him.
Well, I think that will wrap us up for today. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, July 28th
Here we go everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Thursday, July 28th.
We are going to start off with big news coming out of Team Liquid. If you have not heard, the recently released Sheth, formally of FXOpen has a new home with Team Liquid. It has been awhile since TL has announced a new member and the ubermannered Sheth with his skill and attitude is a perfect fit. Congrats to Sheth on the new team. Just for reference, here is the complete roster of Team Liquid:
Nazgul, TLO, Haypro, Tyler, Jinro, Ret, Huk, and now Sheth.
On to tourney play with the up and down matches in the GSL from early this morning. I will run through the single game results, then overall afterward: First we had aLive over Inca, Leenock over Keen, aLive over Banbanssu, Keen over Inca, aLive over Leenock, Keen over Banbanssu, Keen over aLive, and Inca over Leenock. This means that Keen and aLive will retain Code S, Inca, Leenock, and Banbanssu all Code A status.
We also had some loser's bracket play in the IPL season 2. Today we had Drewbie taking out Cloud 2-0. The next match was Tarson taking down NightEnd 2-1. The third match was Lalush taking down Axslav 2-1, and the final match of the night was Darkforce falling 2-1 to BratOK. All losers are eliminated from the tourney.
In other news, last night we announced the showmatch between SlayersBoxer and Yellow. More details have come forward and this will actually be a best of 3, not best of 5 which is what we originally thought. That match can be found over at gomtv.net on August 5th at 6AM PST. This is the show match event of the year, so be there.
Also, another announcement from FXOpen. They have signed a new player from South East Asia name proTimber, Julian Ho. Good luck to him and his new team.
Well, that's about all of the news that we have for you tonight. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 4th
Alright everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 4th.
Well well well. We had a full day of amazing matches over at MLG Columbus. First, in pool play, here are the placements:
Group A:
Naniwa: 4-1, Slush: 3-2, Moon: 3-2, Fenix: 3-2, Drewbie: 2-3, and Gretorp: 0-5
Group B:
MMA: 5-0, July: 4-1, Sheth: 3-2, Sjow: 2-3, Kiwikaki: 1-4, and Moonan: 0-5.
Group C:
Idra: 4-1, MC: 4-1, Ret: 3-2, Thorzain: 3-2, Tyler: 1-4, and Select at 0-5
and Group D:
Losira: 5-0, Haypro: 3-2, InControl: 2-3, Machine: 2-3, Major: 2-3, and TLO: 1-4.
Now I have to recommend checking out a few matches including Sjow vs. MMA, as well as July vs. MMA as Game 2 of that matchup was truly epic.
Now, for tomorrow in the Championship bracket we will have Naniwa facing off against Lorisa and Idra taking on MMA. Those will both be some exciting matches. As for the Championship Loser's bracket, we had the first 2 rounds played tonight and here are the results:
Cruncher went 2-1 against Agh, and then went 2-0 over Gretorp. Next was Vibe going 2-0 over Morrow and then taking out TLO 2-0. Then there was QXC go 2-1 over Axslav and then fall 2-1 to Select. The last matches in those rounds were KawaiiRice going 2-0 over Namchir and then going 2-1 over Moonan. To start off lower bracket play tomorrow we will have Cruncher taking on Kiwikaki, Tyler taking on Vibe, Select vs. InControl, and Drewbie vs. KawaiiRice.
Also tonight we had week 8, division 4 play over at the NASL. We had 2 more walkovers tonight. These are due to the fact that some players are giving up because of their chances this late in the tourney as well as due to MLG week. Here are the results:
Select gets the 2-0 walkover from BratOK, Ret continued his dominance as he went 2-0 over Catz, HasuObs took the series from Stalife 2-1, MC got the 2-0 walkover from Goody, and finally there was ACE taking the series 2-1 over Machine. Here are the standings in the division after 8 weeks:
Select: 7-1, Ret: 6-2, Ace: 6-2, HasuObs: 5-3, MC: 5-3, Stalife: 3-5, BratOK: 3-5, Goody: 2-6, Catz: 1-7, and Machine at 1-7.
Make sure to mark off everything for Sunday as it is both Championship Sunday at MLG as well as NASL Group of Death play. This is an exciting time if StarCraft fans.
That's all the news we have for you tonight. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next day at SC2NewSCast.com.
