Here we go again, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 11th.
Well, there was not a ton of action today, but what action there was sure was fun. I will just go over the NASL Division 4 Week 9 games.
The opening match was dignitas.Select facing oGs.MC it was a match that really did not mean anything to Select as he has secured one of the very top seeds in the Championships already by being the highest pointed player in the NASL right now. That being said, Select secured game 1 in a straight up battle, but once we got into game 2, the match turned into Battlecruiser vs. Carrier for that game and nuke rushing in game 3. MC did take the series and we had a blast watching it. The next match was BratOK taking on Steak. First, who is Steak you ask? Well, that is col.Stalife's new name apparently. Stalife appears to be no more, he is now Steak. Anyway, this series turned some strange twists as well, but in the end they were not much more than 2 uninspiring TvT games won by BratOK. Following that up we had Catz taking on Machine in a ZvZ. Catz took game 1 with his double-roach warren build, but drops games 2 and 3 to Machine. Following that game up we had the premier match up as HasuObs took on Liquid'Ret in a PvZ with Ret continuing to roll over everyone 2-0. In the last match of the night we had the general Goody taking on Startale.Ace. With tanks and carriers abound, Ace takes the series 2-1. Here are the final standings for division 4:
Ret: 8-1
Select: 7-2
Ace: 7-2
MC: 7-2
HasuObs: 5-4
BratOK: 4-5
Steak: 3-6
Goody: 2-7
Machine: 2-7
and finally Catz at 1-8
Ret takes the top spot in the division and Select comes in second. both players move on to the championships brackets. Congratulations for them!
Also today we had the TL TeamSpeak open #16. Notable players included Agh, Cruncher, Flashback, Destiny, Steak, PokeBunny, Catz, Cocoa, Inka, and Fenix. After a ton of matchups, the results are MVP.HwangSin taking 1st place, SixJax.Major taking 2nd, and InKa and Moonan took 3rd/4th place. The top winners receive invites to the next level tourney for $1000.
Also tonight we had the finals of the Gigabyte StarsWar 6 with around 6000 bucks for first place. The finals match was oGs.MC taking on the Chinese player LoveCD in a bo7 matchup with English casting hosted by iCCup.tv. After some more strange goings-on during the event, the winner is, well, you guessed it, oGs.MC. Good job MC taking that series.
Well, that's about all the news that we had for you tonight. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
