NewSCast for Thursday, June 2nd

Here we go everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Thursday, June 2nd.

Let us start off the GSL Super Tourney, round of 32 play that happened early this morning.  First we had JookTo take the series 2-1 over Keen.  Then TheBest took the win 2-1 over Tester.  To follow that up we had Min tear into Genius 2-0, and the final match of the night was HongUn falling 2-0 to Revival.  The GSL will now be on hold for a few days.  Why you ask?  Because of MLG Columbus of course!

Everyone should be prepared for some awesome rapid fire action at MLG which starts Friday evening.  They are going to have two streams with non-stop StarCraft 2 play casted by what appears to be one of the best line up of casters ever assembled in Day9, DJWheat, JP McDaniel, and of course the casting Archon themselves Tasteless and Artosis.  This is going to be a fun and wild weekend.  I am excited to see who is going to become Idra's newest Nemesis.  First there was Huk, then Cruncher.  Who will piss Idra off next?  We will see!

Alright, now that MLG set up is done, lets move on to NASL week 8, Division 2 play.  The results were not quite what I was expecting, but here we go:
First we had TT1 easily take down Ensnare 2-0.  Next was Moman looking strong as he took down White-Ra 2-0.  If that was not enough, then we had DarkForce easily take the 2-0 victory over Sjow.  Next was Cruncher going 2-0 over QXC.  The wrap up the night we had Incontrol vs. JulyZerg.  InControl looked great as he took game 1, but as you know July is known as the "God of War" and he came back strong in games 2 and 3 to take the series.  July is going to be at MLG, so maybe a rematch this weekend?  Only time will tell.
Here are the current standings:
July has secured a top spot at 7-1
Sjow: 5-3
White-Ra: 5-3
Darkforce: 5-3
InControl: 4-4
Ensnare: 4-4
Cruncher: 4-4
TT1: 4-4
Moman: 3-5
and QXC still winless at 0-8.
There is still a ton of bottle neck in the middle of that line up as well as some questions as to whom will take the #2 spot in the division.  Tune in next week to find out!

Also announced today by Husky and Day9 is the GeForce SC2 Pro-Am with a couple of divisions, one for invited pros and one open division.  It is stated to have something like $22,000 in cash and prizes as well as swag.  Day9 and Husky will be casting some matches along with guest casters as well.  To find more information on that, go to geforce.com.

Well, that's all the news we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
