Here we go everyone with the SC2 NewsCast, your daily report in the goings-on of SC2 for Monday, May 8th.
There was not play in any of the major leagues today. The NASL will be back with group 1 play come Wednesday evening. The TSL3 Finals are scheduled to come up this weekend. On Saturday will be the 3rd place match between Empire.Kas and Mouz.Hasuobs (TvP). Then on Sunday we will have the overall finals between dignitas.Naniwa and Mouz.Thorzain (PvT). On both day those matches are set to start at 11 AM PST and you can find those live at teamliquid.net.
In other tournament news we have the GSL Group C and D, Up and Down matches tonight. The list of players include aLive, Byun, Check, Ryung, MC, and HongUn. This is an excellent line up so check those matches out early this morning at 2:00 AM PST. Those are broadcast as always on Gomtv.net.
Also we have the announcement of the IGN ProLeague, Season 2 qualifiers. There were 4 players from season 1 that made it in by default, EG.Idra, ROOT.Kiwikaki, dignitas.Select, and EG.Axslav. The other spots will be chosen through the qualifier tournmanet. Find more information at ign.com/ipl.
A small note as well to keep on the open for, the Candian Star League are holding their qualifiers right now as well. More information on that league as it becomes available.
Today was "Funday Monday" on Day9.tv with the "Hero Unit" submissions. Day9 is not going to give out Funday Mondays for next week due to his graduation and trip to Korea. There may or may not be dailies the rest of the week.
In other Korean eSports news, if you have been following the situation between KeSPA and Blizzard, it appears that they have made an agreement over licensing for SC:Brood War tournaments. This deal only applies to SC:BW, but could potentially lead to SC2 when the deal runs out for Gretech.
Don't miss any of the action, but if you do, we will have the updates for you the next morning here at SC2 NewSCast. Thank you and please don't drone too long or you will miss out!
