Here we go everyone with the SC2 NewSCast covering Sunday, May 8th:
So we have two major events today, starting out with the semifinal match of the TSL3 with Dignitas.Naniwa facing off with Mouz.Hasuobs in a PvP with two of the absolute best Protoss players in the world today. This was a bo7 series but it only took Naniwa, the heavy favorite going on, 5 games to end Hasuobs day. The maps were Terminus, Metalopolis, Shakuras, Xel'naga Caverns, and Crevasse. The matches were fast and furious with very high-level control and decision-making, but overall it was not much more than a 4-gate fest.
Also tonight in NASL action we had the Division 5 "Group of Death" play on the maps Crossfire, Backwater Gulch, and Tal'darim Alter.
First matchup of the night was Fnatic.Sen, the Lord of the Lings, against Mouz.Mana (ZvP) with the Sen clearly outclassing a really great protoss player 2-0.
Next was ROOT.Drewbie going against the Korean oGs.Zenio (TvZ) who has been looking very strong as of late. Drewbie, using strong positioning and micro harass took down one of the beasts of the tournament 2-1.
The third match was EG.Idra against LG.PainUser (ZvT) with Idra showing why he is leading this very strong group taking the series 2-0.
Then we had the Europeans squaring off with aTn.Socke facing MYM.Cloud (PvT) and Socke taking it 2-0.
The final match of the night was the Emperor SlayersBoxer against Team Liquid's Tyler (TvP) and the Emperor of Terran completely shut down the Protoss Tyler's armies to take the series 2-0.
Here are the current standings of Division 5:
Idra: 4-0
Sen: 3-1
Boxer: 3-1
Socke: 3-1
Cloud: 2-2
Zenio: 2-2
Tyler: 1-3
Drewbie: 1-3
Mana: 1-3
and PainUser at 0-4.
In player news this week, we are happy to announce Team Liquid becoming sponsored by Razer, Team Complexity is now in a partnership with Origin PC, and as mentioned yesterday, prae.Thorzain has signed a deal with Mousesports and is now Mouz.Thorzain.
Coming up tomorrow we have the Day[9] Daily "FUNDAY MONDAY" with the Hero Unit submissions. That will be on at 7PM PST at day9.tv. Also, at onemoregame.tv we have "Kings of Tin" and that will be airing at 4PM PST.
Don't miss any of the action, but if you do, we will have the updates for you the next morning here at SC2 NewSCast. Thank you and please don't drone too long or you will miss out!
