NewSCast for 14-Jan-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, January 14th.
Again, not a ton of action or news today, but a few things of note: The NASTL, North American Star Team League is prepping for the upcoming NASL Season. So far the invited teams for that are Empire, EG, Mouz, and Liquid. They recently held their first qualifiers where FXO and Reign have won spots. The second qualifier is going on this weekend, so we will know the final two spots very soon.
In other news, the zerg hero Liquid'Haypro has landed at the oGs house in Korea for extended practice and stay. During the interview on teamliquid.net Haypro has stated that he has been wanting to go back for awhile and plans on being there at least 6 months for training. This means that Jinro, Haypro, Zenio, and Hero are all there and TL has been hinting that there may be more announcements in this vein incoming. The word on the street is that TLO has been interesting in heading back. Currently 4 of the 8 players of TL are in Korea training.
TSL, The SCV Life, has announced a new player in Cyrano, a protoss that has not really been seen since GSL Open 3. TSL has been struggling since losing a bunch of players to other teams as of late.

NewSCast for 4-Dec-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Sunday, December 5th.
Well, the main news for today was over at the finals of the NASL. First we had the 3rd place match between Sen and Thorzain. In a back and forth series, Sen took the 3rd place crown with a win over Thorzain 4-2. This set up the finals rematch between Liquid'Hero and EG.Puma. While these two met in the finals of DreamHack just a week ago with Hero coming out on top, this time it was not to be as reigning NASL champion Puma showed why he is one of the best Terrans in the world as he took down Hero 4-2.
The only other real news of the night is that the GSL Code A ro24 day 1 has just finished. The results were Parting over SangHo 2-1, Happy over Cezanne 2-0, MC over Bomber 2-0, and Brown over Losira 2-0. Be sure to tune in to GSL tonight as the matches are going to be asd vs. NesTea, July vs. Fin, Lucky vs. Ganzi, and DRG vs. Taeja.

NewSCast for 2-Dec-11
Alright, we are here with a new month. Welcome everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Friday, December2nd.
Well, a bunch of news to go along with the first day of the NASL Season 2 Finals down in Southern California. The matches for today were all bo5, single-elimination match ups where we had Hero over HwangSin 3-1. After that was Huk falling in an epic PvP to the winner HasuObs 3-2. Next was BratOK taking down Dimaga 3-2, Sen handling TT1 3-1, team-kill as Mana fell to the might of Morrow 3-0, Thorzain dominated DeMuslim 3-0, Idra rolling over Strelok 3-0 with his safe and defensive play, and finally we had an awesome bo5 with Puma taking our Sheth 3-2.
The brackets for the ro8 are Hero vs. HasuObs, BratOK vs. Sen, Morrow vs. Thorzain, and Idra vs. Puma.
Just finishing up as I speak were the GSL Nov. Code S finals between the Terran Jjakji and the Zerg Leenock. While everyone expected Leenock to take the series one-sidedly, it turned out to be much closer and is already being called the best finals series in GSL Code S to date. In the end we did have a new champion, and this time it was Jjakji who remained strong and calm in the 4-2 victory. There were various moments where Leenock was close to forcing a game 7, but in the end fell to the might of the terran. Now we wait to see about the Code A tourney.
In other news, we have the announcement that the team GosuGamers has officially folded. No word on where the players on that team are heading. Also announced is that the recent partnership between Quantic Gaming and IM has been dissolved after only a couple of months. It is unclear as to why this has happened, but both parties released statements along the lines of "different views and directions." Speaking though of Quantic, one of its members, the popular streamer Destiny, is heading over to Korea and will be staying with the team StarTale for around 3 weeks for training and experience.

NewSCast for 26-Nov-11
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, November 26th, the final day of DreamHack Winter.
Well, we will start today with that awesome event that was DreamHack Winter European Championships. I recorded yesterday's cast right after the ro16 finished, so today we will start with the action from the ro8. The first matchup was NightEnd over Naama 2-1, ending the possibility of a rematch from last year. Then we had Puma over DRG 2-1, Hero over Seiplo 2-0, and Ret over Nerchio 2-0. This set up another Team Liquid team-kill situation, which they always seem to get themselves in as Hero took down Ret 3-1 in the semifinals. The other match was Puma over NightEnd 3-1 setting up what became an absolutely epic bo7 between Liquid's Hero and EG's Puma.
While the teams have a long and storied rivalry, many time with EG coming out on top, this was not to be the day as Puma took game 1, then Hero surged back taking the next 3. Puma was not done though as he took games 5 and 6 to tie up the series heading into an awesome back and forth on Antiga Shipyard. As evenly matched as they were, Hero finally took the commanding lead and with manner Nexus abound, Liquid'Hero is your 2011 DreamHack European Champion.
Now Hero and Puma are prepping themselves for NASL Season 2 Grandfinals coming up next weekend. With this win Hero has also qualified for GomTV's Blizzard Cup next month. Good luck Hero!
Well, speaking of the NASL, the other action for today were more matches in the Season 2 Playoffs to see who will be at the finals this coming weekend. The matches today were NightEnd over QXC 2-0 and Sheth over Sjow 2-1 setting up the match where Sheth took the matches 2-1 over NightEnd to advance to the finals.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, August 27th
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Saturday, August 27th.
Well, all eyes today were centered on the second day of play over at MLG Raleigh. The pool play finished up with Pool A being taking by Coca 5-0, pool B by Bomber 5-0, pool C by DongRaeGu 4-1, and the final pool was decided by an awesome bo3 between the undefeated Kiwikaki and the undefeated Puma. Puma had been manhandling nerds up to this point. In an awesome back and forth series that really could have gone either way, Puma took it 2-1 to take the pool 5-0.
In championship bracket play, we had the first couple of rounds decided already. In the first round of Championship Bracket play we had HwangSin over RSVP 2-0, PainUser over Lost 2-0, DeMuslim over Cruncher 2-0, and ostojiy over wbc 2-1. In the second round we had Drewbie over HwangSin 2-0, Orly over PainUser 2-0, DeMuslim over KawaiiRice in extended series 4-2, and Tyler over Ostojiy 2-1. The final round of the night was round 3 where we had the winless InControl take out Drewbie 2-0, Moonan over Orly 2-1, DeMuslim over TLO 2-0, and the teamkill as Haypro took out Tyler 2-0.
As for tomorrow, we still have a ton of action for Championship Sunday. The champions winners face off as Coca will take on Puma, and Bomber will take on DRG. In the loser's bracket play we still have a ton of outstanding players with Hero, Ret, DeMuslim, Haypro, the unknown story this MLG in TriMaster, who got into group play by winning an open bracket, Rain, Sheth, Idra, Trickster, Sjow, Slush, Nada, Huk, Naniwa, the darkhorse hero so far in Kiwikaki, Select, and Noblesse. Tune into tomorrow as the action should commence at 7:00 AM PST, not long after this cast goes live.
In other non-MLG related news, the NASL has released the names of another 5 players for Season 2. Today they have announced Liquid'Hero, EG Puma, FnaticMSI.TT1, coL.Cruncher, and Dignitas.Sjow. I am getting more and more excited as these names continue to come out.

StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, August 10th
Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Wednesday, August 10th.
The first big news of the weekend is the announcement of another recruit to Team Liquid. This time it is the Korean player Hero, formally of oGs. Liquid'Hero is a very strong Code A Protoss player with a Brood War background who once wore the nickname of Little Bisu. Congrats to Liquid and we cannot wait to see him in action at MLG.
Well, first and foremost in tourney results we had GSL Code A and Code S action early this morning. Today was the last day in Code A round of 32. It was the much talked about Sweden vs. Korea day. The foreigners fought bravely, but all of them fell to the might of Korea as Jinro lost to Lucky 2-0, Thorzain fell to YuGiHo 2-1, Sase fell to Sniper 2-0, and Naniwa fell to Check 2-0. Late tonight there was the first Code A ro16 matches with Ganzi taking out Fruitdealer 2-0, Taeja looking strong in his match as he took down sC 2-0. Next we had the upset as JYP beat DRG 2-1, and finally we had Tassadar fall to Yoda 2-1.
Also we had day 2 in the GSL Code S rounds. Here is the rundown:
Coco over Keen, Nada over Alicia, Coco over Nada, Keen over Alicia, and Keen over Coco. The results are Nada and Keen advancing, Coco remaining Code S, and Alicia falling to the up and down matches.
Also, a bonus, just finishing right now was F. United in the team leagues taking on MVP. Here is a rundown:
Fenix falls to Nalza, Thorzain comes in and owns on Nalza, GuineaPig, and Noblesse. He then falls to Genius who also takes out Soccer. This brings in Naniwa for the ace match. Nani takes it for the foreigners! Congrats to F. United!
In other news it was announced that WarCraft 3 legend Grubby now in SC2 will be playing a showmatch with Liquid's TLO in both StarCraft 2 and WarCraft 3. The WC will be a bo5 with the SC being a bo7 matchup. These will take place on this coming Sunday and the winner will gain bragging rights.
Also in other team news, Team Reign featuring players like Slush ad Kiwikaki have added 2 new members. They are Artist (formally of fou) and gix formally of VT gaming. Good luck to all of them and the new teams.
