NewSCast for 18-Jan-12

Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Wednesday, January 18th.

Well, some action, but mostly drama over the last few days.  First though, the GSL.  The matches for Monday were MMA and Gumiho advancing with Zenio taking 3rd and YuGiHo taking 4th.  On Tuesday we had Genius and DRG advancing with SC taking 3rd and JYP 4th.  Then on Wednesday we had MKP and aLive advancing with Happy 3rd and Brown 4th.
In the ESVtv Korean Weekly we had Leenock taking the win over TheSTC 4-2 with SuperNova and Jjakji taking the next two spots.

Now, onto the moves and other drama.  We had the announcement from Fnatic.MSI that they have signed WarCraft 3 legend Moon to their roster.  Then we had word that Heart has left TSL citing issues with living in the TSL house.  This announcement comes on the heels of alleged misconduct in recruiting between Fnatic and TSL.  Coach Lee claimed that Fnatic were in talks with the player aLive behind their backs.  Fnatic argues that there was no conversations other than off-handed comments between their translator and the team.  aLive has left TSL for reasons he claims were unrelated to the team situation.  Fnatic and TSL were in the process of discussing a team partnership when all of this went down.

aLive has come forward since and said that there was fault on all sides, including his own, and hopes to have it resolved soon.  He claims that there was also some misconduct on Coach Lee's side and has said that if they cannot resolve the situation he will seek legal channels.

If that wasn't enough, later we had the bomb dropped by Rekrul, a well-respected ESPORTS insider and former progamer about other misconduct on the part of Coach Lee from back when the TSL team was started.  He states that Lee stole FruitDealer and Tester from oGs to start his new team.  Then when Spunky, the founder of oGs went to talk with Lee about it Lee tried to egg him into a fight while secretly taping the incident in order to use as blackmail.  This sheds even more light into the problems with TSL and Coach Lee that might explain the player retention problem the team seems to have.

In other player news, Golden and Dragon have left Slayers to pursue foreign team options and Spades has left his team, Reign, to pursue other options as well.  Finally, GuineaPig has confirmed that he has left MVP.

Well, that's about all the news that we have for you tonight.  Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
