Hello again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Wednesday, July 27th.
Again, not a ton of action over the Weekend as everyone is ramping up for MLG Anaheim. We will start off though with the GSL. On Monday morning we had the code S semifinals. The first bo5 series was the zerg mastermind NesTea taking on HongUn and having an answer for anything that HongUn went for, NesTea took the series 3-0. The other match up was Losira taking on Byun and in a mirror performance, Losira took the series 3-0 setting up the finals between teammate zerg heroes.
Also in GSL play, we had the first 2 days in the Up and Down matches. The first day had group 1 play with the following results:
MarineKing over FruitDealer, Ryung over Dream, Happy over MarineKing, Ryung over FruitDealer, Dream over MarineKing, Ryung over Happy, Ryung over MarineKing, Dream over FruitDealer, and Happy over Dream. The results mean that Ryung and Happy are promoted to Code S, Dream, FruitDealer, and MarineKing fall to Code A.
In day 2 play we had asd over sC, sC over anypro, asd over Tassadar, Noblesse over anypro, sC over Tassadar, asd over anypro, Noblesse over Tassadar, Noblesse over asd, and Noblesse over sC. The results then are Noblesse and asd promoted to Code S, sC, anypro, and Tassadar to Code A.
We also had the iCCup Korean Weekly with the winner being GuMiho over Taeja 4-1. Third and fourth place were Naya and TheBest. Tune in every Monday and Tuesday for more iCCup Korean action.
In other news, Mr. Chae has announced a show match on August 5th. This will be a best of 5 series between none other than SlayersBoxer and his past BW rival Yellow! Yellow announced his retirement from BW a few months ago and has since been seen working with the GSL. This is an exciting show match put together for the community and for eSports.
Well, the only thing to mention tonight is that the rest of the week and maybe into next week the NewSCast might be late getting posted due to the fact that I will not have access to my office when I normally do. I will post the blog at normal time, but the mp3/podcast might not be up until the afternoon, so you will still get the news in post form.
That's about all the news that we have for you tonight. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
