Here we go everyone, I am TheAmazombie and this is your SC2 NewSCast for Wednesday, June 8th.
Alright alright, with MLG behind us we now have to focus on what is coming in front of us. Mainly, the GSL Super Tournament and the NASL Bracket play.
Because I am not doing casts on Monday and Tuesday anymore, I think that I will start with GSL casts from the past couple of nights:
First we will start with ro32, day 4 action as Polt took down Huk 2-0, Line took down Kyrix 2-1, Nada looked very strong taking down Virus 2-0, and finally TOP went 2-1 over Choya. In ro16 day 1 play we had MMA continue his recent dominance as he went 2-0 over Ganzi, Ryung went 2-1 over JookTo, TheBest was the best as he took Min 2-1, and finally MarineKing took down Revival 2-1. Can MarineKing finally win a GSL? We will have to see.
Tonight at gomtv.net we will have Leenock vs. Alicia, Maka vs. Polt, Line taking on Nada, and Top taking on NesTea.
We also had some play in the EGs Master's Cup Team EG took down the very strong Mouz team to move forward in this event. Tomorrow we will have Team Sixjax taking on Fnatic.MSI. You can find those matches over at onemoregame.tv.
Also tonight we started the last week of divisional play in the NASL. The maps for tonight were Crossfire, Backwater Gulch, and Tal'Darim Altar. There were a few playoff spots on the line with tonight's matches. Here are the results:
Moon went 2-0 on Fenix to clinch a play-off berth. Then we had TLO get the walkover from Artosis to end his NASL play. Next was Kiwikaki going 2-0 over Vibe, Sheth going 2-1 over Morrow to clinch a play-off spot, and finally Grubby got his first win on the last week of divisional play over Rainbow. Congrats to Grubby on that. Here are the final standings for Division 1:
Sheth: 7-2
Moon: 7-2
Morrow: 7-2
Fenix: 6-3
Kiwikaki: 6-3
TLO: 4-5
Vibe: 3-6
Rainbow: 3-6
Artosis: 1-8
Grubby: 1-8
Congratulations to Moon and Sheth for taking the Division!
In other news, we have DreamHack coming up June 18th through the 21st and the big news is that DreamHack will be providing not 1, not 2, not 3, but 5 Streams on content featuring streams such as Day9, Apollo, TotalBiscuit, ICCupTV, RageQuitTV, and GLHFTV. This is going to be a huge event as DreamHack is know for some amazing LANs. We have many of the players announced for the main bracket tournament, including some Koreans such as Moon, MC, MarineKing, AnyPro, Nada, and FruitDealer. Also at the event will be Jinro, Huk, Happy, Kas, and Thorzain. This is shaping up to be quite the event and after the success of MLG, DreamHack has become the premier event for SC2 in Europe. I cannot wait for that weekend to come.
Also announced today are the TL Open series. This is a series of 12 small tourneys alternating between the NA and EU servers. These will serve as the backbone to the TSL4. The winners will advance to a 1 day tourney for a chance to win $1000 bucks plus, I think, a spot in TSL4. I am not sure of that though, so don't quote me on that one.
Well, that's about all of the news that I have for you tonight. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
