StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Sunday, June 5th

Here we go again, I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Sunday, June 5th. 

I guess we have to start with the little event known as MLG Columbus.  We came into day with some lower bracket rounds to play as well as the few Championship bracket matches.  Let's start with the lower bracket round 3:
Cruncher took out Kiwikai 2-1, Tyler took out Vibe 2-1, Select took down InControl 2-0, and KawaiiRice took down Drewbie 3-0.  In round 4, Fenix took out Cruncher 2-0, Major took down Tyler 2-1, Thorzain took out Select 4-1, and Sjow took out KawaiiRice 2-1.  In round 5 Fenix knocked out Sheth 2-0, Ret took down Major 2-0, Thorzain took out Machine 2-0, and Moon took out Sjow 3-0.  In round 6 Slush took out Fenix 4-2, Ret took out Haypro 2-0, MC took down Thorzain 4-2, and Moon took out July 2-0.
In round 7, Slush took out Ret 2-1 and MC took down Moon 2-1.  On to round 8 where Idra took down Slush 2-0 and MC took out the Dancing Zealots of Naniwa 2-0 to set up the round 9 rematch between Idra and MC.  Idra only needed to take 2 games, MC needed all 4 and he got every one to tear down Idra 4-2.  MC moved forward to take down the loser from the Winner's Bracket finals.
Round 1 of the winners bracket Naniwa losing to Losira 2-0 and Idra dropping 2 games to MMA.  MMA then faced off with Losira and MMA took that series 2-1.  This left Losira to face MC which he did and which he won 2-1.

The finals was then a rematch between Losira and MMA and the winner of MLG Columbus is...Slayers_MMA.  Congratulations to MMA and the Slayers clan for this victory and we hope to see him again at future MLG events.

Also today we had NASL Group of Death play.  This group is getting rather interesting as there are a good number of players jammed together at the top.  Here are the results for tonight:
Idra went 2-0 over Drewbie, Mana took his series 2-1 over Socke, in an upset, Sen fell 2-1 to Cloud, Zenio took down Tyler 2-0 in 2 close matches, and finally, another walkover as PainUser seems to have completely given up and ga ve the win to Boxer.  Here are the current standings for division 5:
Boxer at the top, 7-1
Sen 6-2
Idra 6-2
Zenio 6-2
Socke and Mana both at 4-4
Cloud 3-5
Tyler 2-6
Drewbie 1-7
and PainUser at 0-8.

Also in NASL news they are taking sign ups for the NASL Open tourney which gives anyone the chance to make it into Season 2 as well as gives the winner the final slot in the NASL season 1 championship brackets.  Those games will take place between June 20th and 26th.  Go to NASL.tv for more details.
