Here we go again everyone. I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewSCast for Saturday, June 25th.
The big action today was the main bracket rounds for the HomeStory Cup tournament. This was double-elim brackets (Sorry, I think the other day I said single-elim) so here are the results from the main bracket:
In round 1, XLord took out Sase 2-1, Huk beat ToD 2-0, Idra beat Tarson 2-0, Socke beat Goody 2-1, Adel beat White-Ra 2-0, Naniwa rained on Cloud 2-0, Thorzain took out Stephano 2-0, and MC tore through Jinro 2-0. In round 2, Huk beat Xlord 2-0, Idra beat Socke 2-0, Naniwa beat Adel 2-0, and MC beat Thorzain 2-0. For round 3 we had Huk advancing over Idra 2-1, and Naniwa took out MC this time 2-1. So the upper bracket finals will be Huk vs. Naniwa. The winner will face the lower bracket finalist, which I will go over those results now, all losers are eliminated:
In round 1, Tarson beat Goody 2-1, Sase beat ToD 2-1, White-Ra took out Cloud 2-0, and Stephano eliminated Jinro 2-0. In round 2, Tarson beat Adel 2-0, Thorzain took out Sase 2-1, White-Ra beat Socke 2-0, and Stephano beat Xlord 2-0. In round 3 Tarson beat Thorzain 2-0 and Stephano beat White-Ra 2-1. For round 4, we had Idra falling to Tarson 2-1, looking very strong right now and MC taking out Stephano 2-0. This sets up a lower bracket finals between Tarson and MC, the winner advancing to the overall finals against Huk or Naniwa which will be tomorrow.
Also today we have the ro8 play from the NASL Open. In the end we have only Korean's advancing as in the ro8 Clide took out Lowei, Puma took out NightEnd, aLive took out Rain, and Revival took out Thorzain. The schedule says that the ro4 was supposed to have been today, but I could not find those results if they did happen.
In the TL Open #17 we had some dominating performances from the Zenex clan out of Korea. The winner was ZenexIceCream taking out his team mate ZenexHack to win the open. Third and fourth place were Mill.DieStar and ZenexLine with fifth through eighth going to the last winner HwangSin, ZenexPuzzle, ZenexYong, and the former WC3 champion Grubby.
Well, that's about all the news we have for you today. Don't miss any of the action, but if you do you can find it here the next morning at SC2NewSCast.com.
