Here we go again everyone.  I am TheAmazombie and this is your StarCraft 2 NewS Cast for Wednesday, October 12th.

Well, over the weekend we had a ton of GSL action.  The main matches were the Code A Finals where Curious just outclassed FXOz with a 4-0 victory.  Congrats to him on his Code S status.  We also had the ro8 in the Code S series.  The matches were started off with an epic battle between the two best players in the world, MVP and NesTea.  In the end, MVP took down the zerg hero 3-2 to advance to the semis.  We also had Ganzi over SuperNova 3-2, MMA over Clide 3-2, and Happy over Coca 3-0.

We also had the start of Week 5 in the NASL with Division 1 play.  The matches for tonight were DeMuslim over Vibe 2-1, Hero over White-Ra 2-0, Cruncher over Lowely 2-0, and Sheth over Fenix 2-0.  The standings for the division after 5 weeks of play are:

In player and team news over the weekend, popular streamer and player Destiny has signed with a new team in Quantic Gaming.  Also announced today is that DjWheat has been hired as eSports manager for Twitch.tv.  Also, with MLG coming up they have released the entire list of open bracket players.  Some notable names are DeMuslim, TriMaster, Agh, White-Ra, Polt, MarineKing, Sase, Stephano, and TheSTC.  Tune in this weekend for action over in Orlando.

NewSCast for Saturday, May 7th

Here we go everyone with the SC2 NewSCast covering Saturday, May 7th:

Today there were a couple of large events to cover starting with the the TSL3, round of 4 day 1 between Empire.Kas and the newest Mousesports team member Thorzain (TvT).  The Liquibet had almost a 50-50 split between these two outstanding Terran players for this best-of-7 match.  Unfortunately the match only lasted 5 games as Mouz.Thorzain took down Empire.Kas with Kas only winning in game 3.  The maps played in this match were Shakuras Plateau, Crossfire, Metalopolis, Terminus, and Crevasse.  Thorzain moves forward to the TSL3 Grand Finals against either dignitas.Naniwa or Mouz.Hasuobs who will play tomorrow.

Also today was the Grand Finals for Season 4 of the Collegiate Star League casted by none other than Mr. Sean "Day[9]" Plott.  The final teams were Waterloo University vs. the University of British Columbia with UBC taking the series in overwhelming fashion, so congratulations for them!

As for the North American Star League, we had Division 4 play tonight.  The maps for tonight were Terminus, Crossfire, and Backwater Gulch.  The first match of the night was Liquid'Ret facing off against Complexity.Stalife (ZvT) with Ret taking the series 2-1.  Check out game 2 as Ret appeared to be facing Liquid'TLO for the loss.

The second match of the evening was dignitas.Select vs. ESC.Goody (TvT).  The German Tank hero falls to the agro-terran Select 2-1 in a series that showed three different types of games and style of Terran play.

Next we had mouz.Hasuobs taking out ROOT.Catz (PvZ) 2-1 with Catz living up to his reputation of strong mechanics and unpredictability.

Then we had the first of the Koreans in this division facing off with Startale.Ace going up against the Russian RoXBrat_OK (PvT) and you have to check out that amazing series with Brat_OK taking down the Korean with a mix of mobility and base-trades.

Finally we ended up at the match-up of EG.Machine against oGs.MC (ZvP).  The former GSL champion MC ended up embarrassing Machine with a quick and easy 2-0 victory to take his first win in the NASL and wrap up the night.

Here are the current standings for NASL Division 4 after tonight:
Select, off to a commanding start at 4-0
ACE: 3-1
Ret: 3-1
Hasuobs: 3-1
Brat_OK: 3-1
Catz down 1-3
MC: 1-3
Machine: 1-3
Stalife: 1-3
and Goody bringing up the rear at 0-4.

Alright, on tap for tomorrow we have as already mentioned the second semifinals match of the TSL3 between Naniwa and Hasuobs at 11 AM PST casted by Sean Plott and Husky.  Also at 11 we have DjWheat with Chill on Weapon of Choice.  You can find that at onemoregame.tv.  Later in the evening we have the NASL "Group of Death" Division 5 playing.  Pregame starts at 5:30, matches at 6:00 PM PST at NASL.tv.

Don't miss any of the action, but if you do, we will have the updates for you the next morning here at SC2 NewSCast.  Thank you and please don't drone too long or you will miss out!
